Chicklets Room News

The Chicklets have had a very busy July celebrating lots of different events.

At the start of the month, we had a big move around in the Chicklets Room and brought in some new resources. The Chicklets have really enjoyed exploring all the new materials, especially the large pull up mirror. The Chicklets also went on a trip to Roundhay Park at the start of the month to visit the swans at the lake. The babies had the chance to see the swans and their little cygnets. They also visited the hidden fairy houses too and waved 'hello' to the fairies. We have been celebrating France as our Country of the Month, so the Chicklets have been gluing and sticking their own paper tissue French flags! We also did a French cheese tasting activity with the babies where they had the chance to sample some different French cheeses, the children really enjoyed this activity. We have also been busy celebrating Football Day and exploring England's colours for the Euros final. The children enjoyed playing with the small and large sensory balls, kicking them around the room. Unfortunately, due to our bubble closure, the children missed Beach Day. However, when we returned to the setting, we put out our very own sand tray and buckets for the children to dig/ make sandcastles with. We have also been doing lots of water play during the hot weather where the children have enjoyed splashing in the bubbles.
