Ducklings Room News

Unfortunately the Ducklings have started off the first weeks of July in isolation at home, but this hasn’t stopped them from getting involved with Zoom calls everyday and getting taking part in all the daily activities. These included different baking activities every day along with fun challenges. Well done to everyone who joined in it was lovely to see all your pictures and videos. The children have been learning about France, which was our Country of the Month in July. We enjoyed exploring a sensory tuff tray including red, white and blue coloured rice, which are the colours of the French flag. The ducklings enjoyed recognising the different colours. The children enjoyed using their fine motor skills to scoop the rice up and also used their transporting schema to move the rice to and from the different containers. The Ducklings also enjoyed getting very creative and putting their artistic skills to the test by creating their red, white and blue masterpieces on different canvases. We all tried to do our best artwork, following in the footsteps of the famous artist Claude Monet. The children loved building a tower as high as they could, using different coloured blocks to represent the Eiffel Tower. We celebrated Beach Week a little bit later after isolation. We enjoyed playing in the sand using the buckets and spades to build sandcastles! We also enjoyed playing with the big beach ball and got lots of gross motor skill practice in by kicking the ball to our friends.
