Goslings Room News

The Goslings have had a jam-packed month full of celebrations and events, starting with Bastille Day. We have been celebrating France throughout the month and the children have really enjoyed getting to know how the French people live. We explored their traditional food and even indulged in some tasty croissants which the Goslings helped to make themselves using their motor skills to roll out the pastry and discuss why they need to put them into the oven. The Goslings liked the fact that France celebrated Bastille Day by releasing lots of fireworks, so we created our own with red, white and blue paint and cardboard tubes to represent the colours of the French flag. We have also been building our own interpretation of the Eiffel Tower by looking at pictures and using a range of different blocks to make our own designs. We then had a fun filled day full of sports as we celebrated the Euros, the children enjoyed coming to Nursery in their sporty gear and showing off their impressive physical skills in a range of sports games. The Goslings did an amazing job with the egg and spoon race, following instructions and understanding that they had to keep the eggs balanced on the spoon as they made their way from one fence to the other. We have spent so much time outdoors engaging in so much water play which meant we could get on our swimming suits and have lots of fun splashing! We set up our garden to feel like we were on our holidays, with buckets and spades in the sand tray and lots of jumping into the swimming pool. The Goslings enjoyed roleplay with the dolls, getting them prepared for the hot weather, applying their sun cream and sunhats understanding that is what they needed. We ended our super fun beach day with the good old fish and chips!
