Cygnets Room News

The Cygnets have had a very busy month throughout July and have enjoyed learning about lots of exciting things. The Cygnets have been exploring everything our curiosity areas have to offer, as well as celebrating France as our Country of the Month. We have enjoyed learning all about their traditions and celebrations, as well as trying lots of yummy French food such as croissants with jam and a lovely salad niçoise. The children had lots of fun activities available to them. The Cygnets made a French flag, playdough pastries and even built their own Eiffel Towers in the construction area. The Cygnets have really enjoyed following the Euros football. We made lots of flags for each of the countries and made a big banner cheering on England! The children enjoyed playing lots of ball games in the garden especially football with their friends. The also enjoyed wearing their own football kits from home and we discussed with the children the different teams and the countries they were from. We have all had such a fun time on our Beach Day! The fun started with the water slide. The Cygnets took in turns to slip and slide, which was so much fun! The children really enjoyed jumping in soapy puddles and splashing in the water trays. There was a yummy fruit skewer for snack with lots of juicy fruit. For lunch, the children enjoyed a picnic with tasty wraps and as a special treat, all had a lovely ice cream cone. The children spent lots of time in the sand area where we built sandcastles, sand mountains and even some sand dinosaurs. For tea the children enjoyed some traditional fish and chips in a newspaper cone.
