June Newsletter Goslings Room News

What a busy few weeks the Goslings have had this month! We started off by celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan. We enjoyed the festival Eid Al Fitr, which was filled with yummy food and enjoying lots of exciting activities such as baking Eid biscuits and decorating Eid cards, using star and moon shaped cutters. The Goslings also have had plenty of fun in the sun with the balcony open! We have been enjoying having lots of fun by painting the balcony using paint and fairy liquid mixed with flour. The Goslings even enjoyed cleaning off the paint using sponges and cloths with water. This activity was inspired through the children’s interests, as they thoroughly enjoy helping clean up after getting messy! We also have been frequently visiting Roundhay Park, particularly to the small lake, as we have been following the swans family in the nest. The Goslings have been showing great interest in the life cycle of the swans, so the children have really enjoyed seeing the cygnets after they hatched! Lastly, we would like to thank you for all of your posts and comments on Tapestry as it really helps with our planning to see what the children enjoy getting up to outside the nursery. Our May Baking Challenge was a super hit, the children enjoyed talking about their baking sessions at home and showing off their pictures, which have now gone up on our baking board! For our June Home Learning Challenge, we will be looking at making our own beach bags! We will be looking at collecting all the things you would find at the beach! Keep a look-out on Tapestry for more details soon.
