Country of the Month, March 2026: Ireland Throughout February, the children learnt all about China, linked to the celebration of the Lunar New Year! The children enjoyed a trip with Oli to the Oriental Supermarket to collect ingredients for some traditional Chinese dishes, made some beautiful red lanterns, practiced traditional calligraphy and created their own horse pictures, for ‘Year of the Horse’. Throughout March, we will be celebrating Ireland as our Country of the Month. Did You Know: Ireland is known as the Emerald Isle because it is so green and rains for a good chunk of the year. The children will be learning about the Harp, which is the national symbol of Ireland and listening to some traditional Celtic music which features fiddles, tin whistles and harps, and who can resist giving Irish Dancing a go! We will also be celebrating St Patrick’s Day on Tuesday 17th March, and the children will be invited to come into Nursery wearing the colours of the Irish flag.

Valentine’s Day Celebrations Love was most definitely in the air on Valentine’s Day! The children spent some time thinking about those special to them and why, as well as taking part in lots of Valentine’s themed activities.
