Vaisakhi Celebrations Vaisakhi is the Sikh New Year celebration. A joyous and vibrant event that also doubles as their Spring Harvest Festival. This is a time where Sikhs rejoice in the abundance of crops and pray for future good fortune! During these celebrations, the children got involved in lots of themed activities, including creating their own colourful Vaisakhi kites, drawing their own interpretation of the Guru and exploring lots of themed tuff trays! The Swans children also enjoyed learning about the story of Vaisakhi and watched a video about a young Sikh boy who spoke about going to the Gurdwara to pray.

Eid Al Fitr Activates The children have had so much fun participating in a range of activities linked to Eid-al-Fitr! This has included designing their own henna patterns, making their own model of a Mosque using a range of natural resources and modelling equipment, and designing some lanterns and moon and star pictures to take home too! The children also enjoyed a traditional and delicious festive feast of chicken and mixed vegetable biryani, delicious mango lassi a creamy red lentil dhal.

Our New Garden Tipi At the end of April, we had our new tipi installed in the nursery garden. The children have already been enjoying this new environment and we know it will continue to be a place where they create new memories over the summer!
