Swans Room News
This month in Swans, we’ve focused on what makes us unique, relating to Black History Month. We’ve discussed how we look and what makes us different from one another. We made handprints using our skin tones, which we turned into a wreath and proudly displayed in our Swans Room. We also made self-portraits, where the children used the correct colours for their hair and eyes. In October, we also started our Forest School sessions, which the children have been loving! The children walked down to the forest in Roundhay Park, where they explored their environment and took part in lots of fun activities, including painting with mud and materials they could find in the forest. We can’t wait to continue these sessions throughout the year in Swans. We have some wonderful bakers in Swans who love taking part in our weekly baking sessions! We’ve been learning new skills each week - from learning how to use a knife safely, as well as learning how to use weighing scales! So far, we’ve made some delicious pumpkin muffins, cinnamon leaf biscuits and much more! We can’t wait to see what we bake throughout November! To finish our month in Swans, we loved celebrating Halloween, where the children loved taking part in lots of fun activities. We did lots of spooky crafts as well as exploring some exciting tuff trays. We also had a great time at our Halloween Disco! Everyone showed off their fantastic costumes and had lots of fun with all their friends while enjoying our spooky tea and taking part in lots of fun activities!
