October Newsletter Chicklets Room News

We have had a busy September in the Chicklets room. We have been welcoming all our new little babies into the room and spending lots of time with them to make them feel comfortable and settled within the room. We have been getting to the know the children’s routines and their likes and dislikes. We have recently re-arranged the Chicklets room and added some beautiful new resources. The Chicklets have enjoyed exploring their new environments, accessing the heuristic baskets and finding their way to the climbing frame. We have been taking part in lots of messy play this month which is always a favourite. The babies have enjoyed making marks in the shaving foam, feeling the different textures in the oat play and sprinkling the shredded paper. The Chicklets have enjoyed exploring the outdoor environment, they have been reading lots of books in the sunshine and exploring the messy play on offer outside such as the sand and buckets. We have taken the Chicklets on trips to Roundhay Park in the buggies. The babies enjoyed visiting the ducks and swans followed by a snooze in the buggy on the way back to nursery! Next month, we are going to introduce baby sensory sessions, each session will have a specific theme. We will be taking the babies in small groups to the parent’s room where they will get the opportunity to explore the sensory lights and other sensory materials!
