Children in Need Fun Day 2017

Children in Need is the BBC’s UK corporate charity, and provides grants to projects in the UK which focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged.They support small and large organisations which empower children and extend their life choices, and are currently supporting 2,400 projects across the UK. The children made donations and wore yellow or spotty clothes, baked buns and partook in lots of Pudsey Bear and spotty activities.We raised an amazing £163.71, and had a fantastic time celebrating the day and are very proud to have supported this fantastic cause.

Easter Egg Appeal 2018

The ClarendonWing at Leeds General Infirmary is Leeds Children’s Hospital, and offers incredible medical help to those in need. 22 Street Lane held an ‘Eggstravaganza’ to support the ward by donating Easter Eggs to the children on the ward, as unfortunately some children aren’t able to be visited by the Easter Bunny, so it was up to us to spread the Easter joy! We collected a total of 80 Easter Eggs, which the children were really excited to receive.

Kindness Box 2018 (Food Bank Appeal)

Leeds North andWest Food Bank is a local charitable organisation that is part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported byTheTrussellTrust, who work to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. The Cygnets children collected food, toys and clothes into a ‘Kindness Box’ which was donated to the food bank, and we donated 24.32kg of food, which is enough for 57 meals! What a wonderful display of generosity, thank you for all your kindness.

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2018

Macmillan are a cancer support charity and they offer help to individuals that is focused on their life, from the moment of diagnosis to when they’re most needed. The Coffee Mornings are Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event, with people all over the UK hosting their own as the money raised will help everyone with cancer to live life as fully as they can. We had a lovely morning chatting and enjoying the treats that were very kindly baked, with a total raised of £177.57! An outstanding donation for us to make, and a big thank you to those who were so very generous.

Advent Calendar Appeal 2018

North Leeds Food Bank is a local charitable organisation that is part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported byTheTrussellTrust, who work to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. We collected advent calendars to donate to the cause, along with small gifts to act as stocking fillers in the festive season, bringing joy to those who need it most.We collected an incredible 52 calendars, and are immensely grateful for all the contributions. It was a lovely way to teach our children that not all children are as fortunate as them, and the importance of giving to others.

Children in Need & Disney Week 2018

Children in Need is the BBC’s UK corporate charity, and provides grants to projects in the UK which focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged. They support small and large organisations which empower children and extend their life choices, and are currently supporting 2,400 projects across the UK. We hosted our own DisneyWeek in support of the charity as the iconic Mickey Mouse turned 90!We raised lots of money to support the fantastic work they do, as well as having lots of fun and dressing up to celebrate the occasion.

Christmas Jumper Day 2018

Save the Children are work in the UK and around the world, where they make sure children are safe and healthy. They lead the way on tackling problems such as pneumonia, hunger and protecting children in war, whilst making sure their individual needs are cared for. Christmas Jumper Day focuses on fundraising for essential food, healthcare, education and protection to millions of children around the world. We had a wonderful day wearing a colourful array of knits, featuring classic Christmas creatures to some Santa’s!We raised vital funds that will make a huge difference to those less fortunate, all whilst having fun.

Red Nose Day 2019

Comic Relief supports vulnerable people and communities in the UK and internationally, working towards creating a world free from poverty, doing this by funding amazing organisations doing amazing things. We supported Red Nose Day along with St Patrick’s Day and had a fun day filled with activities all whilst wearing our red noses!We raised some fantastic funds that will make huge differences to those lives touched by the charity.

Easter Egg Appeal 2019

North Leeds Food Bank is a local charitable organisation that is part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported byTheTrussellTrust, who work to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. We had a fantastic collection of Easter Eggs donated and we had originally planned to send these to Leeds Women’s Refuge, however they had already received a huge volume of eggs, so we sent them to North Leeds Food Bank who were incredibly grateful.What a fantastic display of generosity within the community! We collected a total of 106 eggs which made lots of people very happy.

‘Stand Up To Cancer’ Easter Bake Sale

Stand UpTo Cancer is a charity that is relentless with their research, unpredictable in their fundraising and unforgiving in their attitude. Every donation goes towards life-saving cancer research, and they have set a target to ensure 3 out of 4 people in the UK survive their cancer by 2034. We hosted an Easter Bake Sale, which was organised by Hayley from our Cygnets room and were donated some wonderful bakes from the staff.We had some really generous donations, meaning we raised a grand total of £300 which was donated to Stand UpTo Cancer!

The Giant Wiggle (Action for Children)

Action for Children have been working for 150 years to provide support for children that are vulnerable and work on the ground, within communities, through more than 476 local services across the UK.They help more than 387,000 children, young people and their families in the UK every year and help every child to grow up safe and happy. We had a fantastic time celebratingTheVery Hungry Caterpillar’s 50th birthday, taking part in a sponsored GiantWiggle and enjoying other activities themed around the story.We raised important funds that will benefit the children less fortunate in the UK to give them the best possible start in life!

Macmillan Bake Sale 2019

Macmillan are a cancer support charity and they offer help to individuals that is focused on their life, from the moment of diagnosis to when they’re most needed. Our 2019 bake sale was huge success, with a massive total of £263 raised! Thank you so much for everyone’s extremely kind donations, both of sweet treats and funds for the charity, it’s all going to an incredible cause. Following the bake sale, some of the cakes that were left were donated to the residential home, Richmond House, over the road from our nursery!They were delighted to receive our cakes and said we were very kind, which was a lovely comment to receive for their lovely gesture.
