22 Street Lane Nursery - September 2024 Newsletter

September Newsletter

The Swans’ children have loved celebrating and learning all about the Olympics. We looked closely at multiple different sports that were involved in the Olympics and even had a go at some of them at nursery. We made lots of lovely crafts, including making our own Olympic rings. Some of the children enjoyed drawing pictures of themself and taking part in their favourite sports, such as running and having a go at the high jump. In our messy area we had lots of exciting tuff trays that represented different sports, we had an example of a running track, a swimming pool and a football pitch. The children have had so much fun celebrating the carnival. The children made colourful crowns, masks and pictures which they loved decorating with feathers and paint. The children also had so much fun taking part in some carnival dancing and enjoyed listening to some amazing carnival music. Finally this month we said our final goodbyes to the current Swans children. We’ve had a fantastic year and we wish them all luck for their next adventure to big school. Throughout August the Cygnets children have been coming on short visits to Swans, where they have enjoyed getting to know their new room and teachers. We can’t wait to welcome all our new children and families into the Swans Room in September. Throughout September we will be focusing on ‘all about me’ as we get to know the children further.
