Sports Week: 29th July - 2nd August At the beginning of August, the children carried on celebrating the Olympics, which began in Paris on 26th July. The children enjoyed learning all about the different competitions and races taking place, reading stories about the Olympics, creating their own Olympic torches using recycled materials, and participating in lots of races with their friends. The children also created their very own Olympic medals!

Carnival Week Celebrations In support of Leeds West Indian Carnival, we held our own Carnival Week! The children came to the nursery in their bright clothes, and we made some traditional headpieces, which we then used for our carnival disco and parade. We also explored colourful feathers in our messy play tray, where the children used their senses to explore. We finished the celebrations with a traditional Caribbean meal of jerk chicken, rice and peas.
