22 Street Lane Nursery - September 2025 Newsletter

September Newsletter Ducklings Room Introduction Pick up and drop off: A member of staff will meet you at the door at the top of the stairs for handover, please gain a member of the Ducklings staff’s attention, by knocking on the window, and they can let us know you are waiting. Tapestry: Tapestry is a vital tool that is used across the nursery to communicate with you on a day-to-day basis to share your child’s development in observations. Your child will have a ‘Today in Ducklings’ post each day that they attend, which will consist of pictures of activities and what the children have been up to during the day. This will be one post to all children that attend that day. Your child’s Key Person will be responsible for your child’s planning and assessments within the room. You will also receive regular ‘Wow Moments’ (that has been completed by your Key Person) that you are able to read at home. Each ‘Wow Moment’ will be marked against the EYFS curriculum to monitor your child’s progress. Please feel free to post on Tapestry too! You can let us know what your child is enjoying at home or anything fun you have been up to at the weekends / evenings. We can then use this further at nursery by basing our activities around their interests. Tapestry is also available to download on your phone or tablet as an app which some parents find an easy way to access. If you have any difficulties accessing Tapestry, feel free to ask anyone in the room. In my bag: We do ask that each child brings in their own bag to be placed on their peg with a few essentials for their day at nursery! Unfortunately, we cannot accept drawstring bags or plastic bags are these are a choking hazard to our little Ducklings. Here’s a list of a few things your child will need: • Spare clothes (a couple of changes should be enough to warrant messy play and nappy accidents, we do ask that this doesn’t include any precious clothing as we like to get messy and wouldn’t want anything to get ruined) - Vests / Socks / Trousers / Tops / Dribble bibs / Coats / Jackets / Cardigans / Shoes • Bottles and Formula (if applicable - powder to be pre-weighed out in individual containers) • Wipes (these will be kept in your child’s individual nappy basket) • Nappy cream (this will be kept in your child’s individual nappy basket) • Teething aids (granules / gels / oils / teethers) • Weather appropriate clothing (gloves / hats / scarves / sun hats / suncream / puddle suits / wellies / etc...) • Comforters (teddies / dummies / etc...) We will always try our best to ensure all items are returned safely home. We would highly recommend labelling your child’s things, however, as this helps us to remember which child they belong to! Pictures: Please could we ask for you to upload some family photos for our ‘My Family’ display, this is a great way to help the Ducklings Room feel more homely and to help your child settle into nursery.
