22 Street Lane Nursery - September 2025 Newsletter

September Newsletter Goslings Room Introduction Toilet / Nappy changing area:

The children have access to a single toilet with a sink, in order to encourage independence, we will slowly introduce washing hands by themselves to promote hygiene before all meal and snack times. This is a transition which will help support them when they eventually move to the Cygnets Room. Our nappy changing area is next to the toilet which involves a small set of steps attached that can only be pulled down by a member of staff, this is used for the children to climb up to access the nappy station. The Daily Routine we follow in the Goslings Room is as follows: 7.30-9.00: Children arrive, welcome and breakfast 9.00-9.55: Outdoor play 10.00-10.20: Snack time / Nappies

10.20-11.00: Focused activities and free flow to balcony 11.00-11.30: Singing / movement or reading session 11.30-12.00: Lunch time 12.00-2.00: Sleeps / Activities set up for children awake 1.30-2.30: Nappies / Snack and Outdoor play 2.30-3.30: Indoor play and free flow to balcony 3.30-4.00: Tea time 4.00-6.00: Nappies / Feedback / Shutdown of the room Balcony:

The children have access to the balcony throughout the day during free flow times, the activities will often be used daily in all sorts of areas of play depending on the weather conditions for example, water play, construction, dressing up etc... We often enjoy snack time and teatime outside during the summer which the children really enjoy. Mealtimes: During mealtimes, every child will have their own placemat with their photo on and any dietary requirements, in order to encourage children to find their seats which are then attached to the back of their chairs. The children will be provided with metal cutlery such as knives and forks and will be served food on plates or in bowls. The children will also be provided with non-strap chairs. Sleep times: The children will have their nap just after lunch time, they will be provided with the padded mats, a sheet/ blanket and comforters with assigned bags. If your child has a comforter, it will be kept aside until sleep time unless required throughout the day. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Goslings Room and getting to know them all!
