Swans Room News

At the start of the month, the Swans learnt all about transport. The Swans have been showing lots of interest in different transport modes recently, having discussions about how they travel to Nursery each day, if they have been on a plane before or not and what their favourite mode of transport is. The children enjoyed participating in lots of creative activities, including creating their own train tracks (also linked to our sound of the week - 'T'), cutting and sticking different transport modes into the correct boxes on a template and creating their own trains and planes using different shapes, and assembling them in the correct order before sticking them down and decorating their creations. The Swans have also been celebrating Eid this month, learning all about the festival, what the celebration is about and how it is celebrated. The children enjoyed watching some videos of people enjoying the celebration around the world, looking at the different festivals celebrated by different people, making our own Eid Mubarak pictures, drawing some beautiful and intricate henna designs and making some yummy mango lassi to enjoy! A big thank you to anyone who has contributed to our learning about Eid and contributed any items to our 'Book of the Month' display which is linked to Eid too! Throughout the month the children have also been very busy with woodwork classes, as we have started a new project to make a birdhouse. The children have really enjoyed measuring the pieces of wood and using the tools with help from our practitioners. It’s almost finished now, so keep an eye out for it in the Big Garden!
