22 Street Lane Nursery - September 2023 Newsletter
September Newsletter Cygnets Room Introduction
As your child will be moving to the Cygnets Room in September, we would like to provide you with a brief overview of what our room entails. This will include information about the room and routine in order to welcome your child with ease. Your child will have a key worker and a deputy key worker for them in their absence which have already been allocated and put on Tapestry for you, however, if you have any questions about this then please let us know. Your key worker will give feedback where possible depending on shift
patterns as well as posting observations for you on Tapestry. The staff members in the Cygnets Room are as follows:
Jess Bilton Room Leader
Chelsie Lau Deputy Room Leader
Ellie Worrall Qualified Practitioner
Manuela Alberquerque Nursery Assistant
Emmy Neilson Apprentice Practitioner
Pick up and Drop off: In the Cygnets Room, feel free to come into the room when dropping off and picking up your child. We do ask when dropping off in the morning, if you can leave the room as soon as your child's belongings are on their peg, as this will help with the overall settling in process. To access the Cygnets Room please enter the Nursery and go down the stairs and the room will be on your right-hand side. Feedback: As always daily verbal feedback will be provided. We will always give information about the fun activities we do each day, what food your child has eaten and if they have slept. If you ever need to know something specific about your child, please do let a member of the Cygnets team know and we will be happy to relay this information to you. Please note: There will not be a daily Tapestry update with pictures about their day due to the increase in the number of children in Cygnets. At the end of each week, we will post 'This Week in Cygnets' with a few pictures of each of the children from the week as well as a description of what they have been up to. Mealtimes: During mealtimes we have individual place mats with each child's photograph on (with dietary details) on the tables in order to encourage the children to find their seats. The placemats are then attached to the back of the chairs, to be visible to all staff members working in the room. This is also to make all practitioners aware of each child's dietary requirements as well as any allergies within the room. A dietary and allergy sheet will also always be available to all staff to see, but only the Room Leader or the Deputy Room Leader will hand out any food for children with specific dietary or allergy requirements. The children will also be provided with metal cutlery, such as: knives and forks and will be encouraged to self serve their own food and feed themselves. We will support the children with this daily.
