Uniform Uniform is compulsory as the children move into the Cygnets Room. This is available to purchase from Rawcliffe's on Roundhay Road, or online via the following link: https://www.rawcliffesleeds.co.uk/search by-schools/22-street-lane-nursery.html You are also able to purchase navy and white uniform from a local supermarket, if you prefer. If you need any more information around uniform, please feel free to ask a member of the Cygnets Team. We ask that all your children’s clothes have a label with their name on. Please also remember to bring spare clothes in case they get wet or dirty. Toilet area: There are two toilets in the Cygnets Room for the children to use if they are toilet trained. The children are encouraged to go to the toilet regularly especially before each mealtime, and before and after they have been in the garden. We also encourage the children to regularly wash their hands and promote independence with dressing. We also have an area to change nappies. When your child is ready to be potty trained and you start this at home, please let a member of staff know and we will support this at nursery. Group / Carpet Time: A carpet time will be introduced in the Cygnets Room. When the children move down to the room they can decide if they want to join in or not and they will take part in some singing or stories. As the year progresses it will be a large group circle time where we sing songs together about the days of the week, ask our friends how they are feeling and talk about the weather and so on... Sleep Times: If your child sleeps, they will have their nap just after lunch time. They will be provided with the padded mats, a sheet / blanket and comforters with assigned bags. If your child has a comforter, it will be kept aside until their sleep time. Extra-Curricular Activities: In the Cygnets Room we will have some extracurricular activities starting from September, which are Debutots (Monday) and Rugby Tots (Tuesday). The activities may change days throughout the year in order for each child to take part. A post for each of the activities will be sent out in due course explaining a little bit more about each of them. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of the team by dropping a comment below.
