22 Street Lane Nursery - September 2024 Newsletter

September Newsletter Goslings Room Introduction

As your child will be moving to the Gosling Room in September, we would like to provide you with a brief overview of what our room entails, this will include information in order to welcome your child with ease. Your child will also have a key worker and a deputy key worker for them in their absence which have already been allocated and put on Tapestry for you, however, if you have any questions about this then please let us know. Your key worker will give feedback where possible depending on shift patterns as well as posting observations for you on Tapestry. There are currently four members of staff in the Goslings Room who you will see daily during drop off and feedback. The staff members in the Goslings Room are as follows:

Katie Dobson Room Leader

Nafeesa Wasim Nursery Assistant

Ellie Worrall Qualified Practitioner

Megan Robson Apprentice Practitioner

Pick up and Drop off: In the Goslings Room, feel free to come into the room when dropping off and picking up your child. We do ask when dropping off in the morning, if you can leave the room as soon as your child’s belongings are on their peg, as this will help with the overall settling in process. Feedback: The Goslings will upload one post on Tapestry which will be called ‘My Day in Goslings’ this will tag all the children in attendance on the day and will also provide pictures and information on what sort of exciting activities the children have been doing. When you collect your children, a member of staff will then provide a more detailed feedback which gives you information about their day, mealtimes and sleep times. Areas / Layout of the room: We have a large space of provision which includes a Role play area, Cosy Corner and the Small world / Construction area. We also have the other side of the room where the children will sit for mealtimes. This is also the area where the children will have access to daily messy play activities with different materials

alongside water and sand play. Toilet / Nappy changing area:

The children have access to a single toilet with a sink, in order to encourage independence, we will slowly introduce washing hands by themselves to promote hygiene before all meal and snack times. This is a transition which will help support them when they eventually move to the Cygnets Room. Our nappy changing area is next to the toilet which involves a small set of steps attached that can only be pulled down by a member of staff, this is used for the children to climb up to access the nappy station.
