The children have access to the balcony throughout the day during free flow times, the activities will often be used daily in all sorts of areas of play depending on the weather conditions for example, water play, construction, dressing up etc... We often enjoy snack time and teatime outside during the summer which the children really enjoy. Mealtimes: During mealtimes, every child will have their own placemat with their photo on and any dietary requirements, in order to encourage children to find their seats which are then attached to the back of their chairs. The children will be provided with metal cutlery such as knives and forks and will be served food on plates or in bowls. The children will also be provided with non-strap chairs. Group / Carpet times: The Goslings will often have a sit-down session prior to lunch and tea times to promote social development. We will provide the children with the option to sing and read books, which include props to promote interest. Sleep times: The children will have their nap just after lunch time, they will be provided with the padded mats, a sheet / blanket and comforters with assigned bags. If your child has a comforter, it will be kept aside until sleep time unless required throughout the day. Extra-curricular activities: Every Thursday, we have a ‘Shake, Rattle & Boogie’ session with Kimberley which involves lots of singing and physical play using different instruments. The day this this class takes place may alternate throughout the year, to allow other children to take part. Throughout the year as they get older, we begin walks to Roundhay Park, Tropical World, and even a bus trip to Oakwood Library, which provides them with the opportunity for new experiences. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Goslings Room and getting to know them all!
