Swans Room News

Throughout August, we have been looking closely at Brazil as our Country of the Month. The children have enjoyed taking part in a variety of different activities, including making the Brazilian flag with a range of different materials. Linking to Brazil, we also celebrated carnival in August! The children had so much fun taking part in crafts using bright colours, for example, making carnival masks and taking part in some parade dancing! All of the children got involved in our Swans Sports Day with great enthusiasm, taking part in running races and the classic egg and spoon race. It was wonderful to see everyone trying their best and showing great sportsmanship! We cheered loudly for all of our friends and celebrated each other’s efforts - even those of the adults who had to have a go at the egg and spoon race! We have also been focusing on school readiness, as the children will soon be starting big school! We have read some lovely books linked to school, as well as having activities linked to the colour monster, to support the children to express how they are feeling. Finally, on behalf of the Swans team, we would like to wish all the children the best of luck in their new adventures at big school in September. They will all we missed but we know they will all be amazing!
