Chicklets Room News

The Chicklets have had another very busy month during May. We started off by exploring ‘National Storytelling Week’ where the Chicklets engaged in various fun and messy play activities based on our favourite books such as ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’. We explored lots of new and interesting textures such as different fruits and objects. The Chicklets also brought in their favourite books from home to share with their friends. From this, we introduced the Chicklets Lending Library where children were able to borrow a book from the nursery and take it home to read. Then came our annual Pop-up farm which the babies absolutely loved. The babies met lots of different animals such as an alpaca, a pig, a Shetland pony, sheep, goats, rabbits, cows and guinea pigs. We practised our communication skills by waving, saying “hello” and practising our different animal noises. Towards the end of the month, we had our Grandparents stay and play where the Chicklets enjoyed showing their grandparents what they get up to at nursery and engaging in different activities together such as decorating picture frames, splashing in the tea and exploring the garden tuff tray. Thank you all so much for coming, it was so lovely to meet you all and see you spend some quality time with the babies. We then had Gardening Week where we ventured out into Oli’s allotment so he could show us all his herbs and vegetables, and we even helped him water the plants!
