Ducklings Room News

In the Ducklings Room, we had so much fun celebrating Football Day at the start of May. The children loved playing football with their friends throughout the day; we created Elland Road stadium in a tuff tray where our Ducklings used their fine motor skills to score goals with their fingers. We also had yellow and blue Leeds United-coloured playdough to explore. The Ducklings looked amazing in their football kits. Bee Day was a fun celebration in our room; the Ducklings explored our bee-themed tray made out of rice. They all loved to ‘buzz’ as they transferred the rice around the tray before making their own buzzy bees out of black and yellow play dough! We would like to say a big thank you to all the grandparents who attended our Grandparent’s Stay and Play. The Ducklings loved finding their picture in the flower water tray, creating red love hearts out of play dough and spending some quality time with their grandparents. We ended the month by celebrating National Children’s Gardening Week where the Ducklings explored soil-filled tuff trays with hidden vegetable flash cards, looked through the binoculars to find the bugs in our garden tray and planted their own flowers in the brown ‘soil’ playdough.
