September Newsletter Cygnets Room News
At the beginning of the month, we celebrated Yorkshire Day. The Cygnets children loved taking part in lots of exciting activities relating to Yorkshire. Some children enjoyed creating the Yorkshire Rose in the Creative Area using resources of their choice. Other children loved playing in the water tuff tray where they enjoyed pretending to make cups of tea using the water and tea bags. The Cygnet children also loved celebrating Carnival Week, where they got very creative and made bright crowns, eye masks and bracelets out of brightly coloured resources. We also had our own Carnival around the garden whilst playing musical instruments. In August we also had our annual Beach Party Day! We had so much fun on the big slip and slide, as well as taking part in lots of water play. For lunch, the children enjoyed some yummy fish and chips made by Chef Oli. As England reached the final of the Women’s World Cup we had a football-themed day to celebrate. All the children came in their best football kits and we had a fun-filled day full of football activities. We played football in the garden, designed our own football kits and played finger football in the Finger Gym area. Finally, this month we have been preparing the Cygnets children for their transition to the Swans Room. They have been going for short visits regularly to get to know all the practitioners, as well as getting to know their new environment. We have loved looking after all of the Cygnets children this year. We are going to really miss everyone, but we wish the children the best of luck in their new adventures!
