Ducklings Room News

The Ducklings have had a fantastic August. We kickstarted the month with lots of celebrations around the Olympics. We started the day with an Olympic-themed messy activity using edible resources. The Ducklings made their own torch using cream cheese and seasoning paprika on top to resemble the torch. The Ducklings also enjoyed doing car and boat races and challenging each other. The Ducklings have also been doing their annual baking sessions, this month some of the Ducklings got to walk to the local shop for ingredients to make healthy pizza wraps. The Ducklings enjoyed choosing the ingredients from the shelves and paying the man at the counter once we had finished our shopping, we were big helpers! We headed back to the nursery with our ingredients and we all had a go at making our own pizza wraps. We spoke about the different ingredients we used ‘sweetcorn, peppers and mushrooms’ to fill the wraps. The children were really confident with their fine motor skills and were able to spread the tomato purée around, as well as add the yummy ingredients. The Ducklings all made their own little masterpiece, and they looked amazing! As always we love to go on trips into our community, this month the Ducklings went on a trip to the local café and library. We went on the bus and stopped to have some delicious babyccinos in the café. We also went to the library and read some lovely stories. We chose some books to take back with us. It was then time to go to go back to nursery on the bus. We had the best time, the Ducklings had so much fun!
