Goslings Room News

This month in the Goslings Room, the children have enjoyed learning about the Country of the Month – Brazil! We looked closely at the colours of the Brazilian flag and had lots of sensory tuff trays focused on it. During August, we also celebrated Gruffalo Week! This was the children’s favourite week as we had lots of fun activities supporting their favourite book. We baked some ‘turned out toes’ muffins and went on a Gruffalo hunt in the woods! Some of our children enjoyed dressing up as the Gruffalo and doing some crafts focusing on the ‘purple prickles all over his back’. We also had some lovely meals made in our home corner, ‘owl ice-cream’ being the most popular and a fun ‘scrambled snake’ spaghetti tuff tray for all the children to enjoy. We also celebrated Carnival this month, a lot of our Goslings enjoyed watching the parade, tasting the cuisine and listening to some traditional music. We have been doing lots of crafts, all things bright and colourful, and even painted and designed our own carnival t-shirts. In September, we are excited to welcome our current Chicklets to the Goslings Room, as they prepare for their next transition here at the nursery. We plan on utilising our first month to grow strong bonds and build new relationships with this cohort and their families. We are also super excited to welcome those joining us from outside of nursery, and look forward to getting to know you all. At the end of the month, we will be celebrating Rosh Hashanah and doing some fun baking for the Macmillan Bake Sale.
